More About the Sevylor Fiji
The Fiji was designed as a promotional version of Sevylor’s traditional inflatable kayak, the Tahiti. The Fiji is marketed as ideal for traveling and even comes with a 5-piece touring paddle as well as a special travel carry bag.
This inflatable kayak has a tubular I-beam floor as well as bow and stern spray decks. It comes with two inflatable seats, one can be removed and the other is fixed.
I am not sure exactly what to say about the Sevylor Fiji because I really do not like this kayak. It is extremely cheap in price and cheap in every other way too. The valves, the construction, the performance, the seats… they are all lacking. It is a tandem kayak but there is really not much room for two so is really best suited for solo use.
The positives are that if you don’t have any money to spend but want to get out on the lake, this one will get you there for roughly $100. Unfortunately it won’t get you far and I would be nervous about this one holding up.
Final Thoughts on the Sevylor Fiji
To me the Sevylor Fiji is more like a toy… something to go out and float around on the water with. There are so many other affordable inflatable kayaks that are more than suitable for traveling. I would highly suggest considering your alternatives before investing even a little money into this inflatable kayak or waiting until you can spend a little more and getting something of better quality.
