More About the Sea Eagle 370
The Sea Eagle 370 is virtually identical to the Sea Eagle 330 (see review for the Sea Eagle 330 ) except that it is slightly larger, weighs a little more and can hold more weight.
The SE 370 has a self bailing drain valve that allows you to quickly rid the boat of excess water if needed. This kayak is great for all different water types but is truly an entry level boat.
It is affordable and stable and a great option for beginners that are just starting out in the sport of kayaking. Also I would highly recommend going for the Pro Package that comes with the deluxe kayak seats. They are well worth the little bit of extra money and will be a huge help for any back aches and pains during your paddling adventure.
One thing you can be sure of is that Sea Eagle boats are sturdy and extremely hard to puncture. They can literally be dragged over anything and take a huge beating. They are tough and consequently Sea Eagle inflatable boats have earned the reputation as being some of the best.
Even though the SE 370 is an entry level kayak, it is still a lot more solid then many other kayaks in this price range. The 370 can hold up to 650 pounds of cargo. This kayak can be loaded right up and keep on floating.
Recommendations For the Sea Eagle 370
The SE 370 is a better option than the SE330 if you plan on kayaking with 2 people as it is much roomier than the SE 330. Please read the review for the Sea Eagle 330 for much more in-depth detail as these boats are virtually the same except for size and weight.
Final Thoughts On the Sea Eagle 370
The 370 sport kayak will not be the fastest or the highest performing boat in the water. However with the affordable price and the fact that it is comfortable, stable, super rugged and is backed by a three year warranty, you really can’t go wrong. It is completely perfect for traveling because of its light weight and will satisfy any beginner kayaker.

Hi, it would be appreciated if you published a chart so we could see what is the best inflatable canoe to purchase as we don’t have the luxury of testing them all on the water, please tell us which are the best.
Hi Alan,
As we only have 3 canoes at the moment we have included them within our inflatable kayak comparision chart. When we add more canoe reviews to our site we will eventually do a separate chart for inflatable canoes.
Which canoe is best for you will depend on your personal needs. In my opinion though if you plan on canoeing mostly with 2 people I would go with the SE370 as it offers more room and comfort than the SE330 or the AE StraitEdge Canoe. It also has a higher load capacity and a 3 year warranty. Hope this helps.

Hi allison,
just wondering if the se370 or any others can also be used by 1 person if there are not 2 using it in some cases.want to use for fishing but don’t always have a partner
Hi Ernie,
Yes absolutely the SE370 can easily be paddled solo. The seats can be moved so you can take one out and place it wherever you wish to sit. Check out my post Convertible Inflatable Kayaks as I have listed there all of the inflatables that offer this option.
Cheers,
Allison
There is no D-ring on the SE370 for going solo right? I do have a question about a front paddler in the SE370. The boat tends to roll from side to side just a little if seated in the front position, should a paddler be near the middle or towards the back, for a more stable ride. The back paddler seems to be more stable. Any advice?
Hi Sonny,
Yes that is right. You can remove one of the seats to paddle solo. Typically the front seat will be best because it is closest to the middle of the boat. If you are having a problem with stability try adding extra weight to either the front or the back or both (if paddling solo). Some people do prefer to paddle the 370 from the back seat while solo but I have always found the best control from the front seat. As a general rule you want to be closest to the middle of the kayak with a little extra weight in the back to avoid the yaw movement.
Hope that helps,
Allison
Allison/My wife and i just got a 370. Our First experience was great. We were out about5 hours and travelled about 7 miles. We handled the Kayak well and had no trouble changing direction .One week later we tried again.I was the total opposite. We could not keep the kayak on course and it kept rotating 360 degrees. Once we began to lose direction we couldn’t straighten it out.
Each time the kayak rotated in a complete circle. We couldn’t figure out why we could not maintain a course, particularly after being so successful the prior week. We thought there was something wrong with the boat, but couldn’t figure it out. Any suggestions?
Hi Frank,
That is really strange… the only thing I can think of is that possibly something is wrong with the skegs underneath the boat. It is definitely not normal, especially if it was turning in a complete circle. I would suggest contacting Sea Eagle directly as they will likely have far more insight into the matter. Hopefully it is a really simple problem to fix.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Allison:
I just read the email comment from Frank G. regarding his trouble with his 370 not tracking.
First, I haven’t got my SE370 yet, I just ordered it last week. However I did download from Sea Eagle the instruction manual for it. In it, it talks about straightening the skegs if they become bent, which I suspect is the problem. The 370 comes with skeg protectors and if they aren’t put on when the kayak is folded up the skegs could be damaged. The instruction manual outlines how to fix them.
Thanks for that Rick. Frank did speak with Sea Eagle and they suggested to take a look at the skegs as well so hopefully the problem was easily solved. I am glad you brought up the online instruction manuals, I forget about them sometimes but there is lots of really great info in them.
Good luck with your 370!!
Allison
I appreciate all of the feed back I received. It was a problem with the skegs. We’ve taken care of it and we’re back on track.Frank
I notice some other comments concerning using this boat solo. The comments talk about d-rings for seat placement. The boat has NO d-rings of any kind- the seats are held in place by pressure from the side bladders and the weight of the paddler. I’m finding that they stay in place quite well, and it’s nice being able to have ‘infinite adjust’ seat positioning.
If you’re going to use the boat solo, just stick one seat in the center, and leave the other out.
Just for clarification: Is the 370 a kayak or a canoe? Sea Eagle refers to it as a sports kayak, IKW shows it as both. I guess in reality it CAN be both.
Technically the 370 is a kayak but lots of websites advertise it as a canoe. In my opinion it definitely can be both as you can choose either kayak seats or canoe seats for it. Either way, it’s a great little boat.
Thanks for a wonderful site that has prompt and helpful feedback!
I’ve seen a mention on another site about the option of wooden floor boards for either or both the 330 and 370. First, could you confirm that this is indeed an available option and for which boat(s)? Second, if it is, what’s your opinion of both value and benefit?
Thanks again!
Hi Tim,
No there is definitely no option for wooden floor boards for the 330 or 370 (I just double checked with Sea Eagle to be sure). They are available only for Sea Eagles motormount boats. I think they would be extremely valuable if you are into fishing as they would provide a good stable fishing platform but otherwise I don’t personally think they are necessary.
Cheers, Allison
Just received our SE370. Haven’t even unpacked yet. Sea Eagle was very prompt at handling my order. Received an email confirming my order then another telling me that it had been shipped. They included a link to FedEx so I could watch it travel across the country to my home. Very exciting. Now to unpack and inflate. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon we will take our maiden voyage. Can’t wait.
Rick: Can’t wait for your review, either.
