The NRS Gigbob is 100% built for fishing. It is a superb inflatable pontoon boat as it can fold right down into a bag and be carried or taken anywhere. It offers extreme versatility and a fun ride. Many catarafts and pontoon boats have many parts that need to be assembled. The advantage to owning an inflatable frameless boat is that it is extremely easy to transport and very quick to set up.
The GigBob is like Two Boats in One
The GigBob essentially has two sections.
- The bottom section is the two pontoons with an inflatable section that connects them. The seat can be attached and it is possible to simply use this section as a kickboat (with no oars).
- The top section is very much like another smaller pontoon boat that gets placed on top of the bottom section. The seat can be attached here as well and with these two sections attached together you get excellent stability, flotation and a great rowing platform.
Note: Both sections have a large flat cargo platform behind the seat.

I am not surprised that the GigBob has rose to fame so quickly as it truly offers a lot of excellent features for those who love to be out on the water fishing. The quality is good (though I would have to say the Sea Eagle Frameless Pontoon Boat will likely last longer). The GigBob does offer drop-stitch construction which allows for not only extremely solid rigidity but it also allows for flat surfaces.
The 15 square feet area on the GigBob deck gives lots of room for standing and moving around as well as provides a great space for a cooler, extra rods or perhaps your dog.
Final Thoughts on the NRS Gigbob
This is an excellent inflatable fishing watercraft. It is popular for good reason and I would guess will continue to be popular for many years to come. The stability and versatility it offers is outstanding. If you simply use the bottom section of the GigBob as a kickboat then the weight is manageable. However when fully assembled this inflatable boat can weigh as high as 65 pounds. This is not easy to carry by yourself and it would be very wise to have a cart with wheels to get this baby down to the water.
