At first glance the Sea Eagle FoldCat looks like a regular pontoon boat. However this boat has so much more going on and is the ultimate in convenience and portability. As you likely know most pontoon boats have an awkward metal frame with lots of parts that takes a good amount of time to put together. This FoldCat has a unique folding frame that allows you to set it up quickly. Sea Eagle states that it takes 5 minutes to set-up but I would allow for between 5 – 10 minutes realistically.

The other great feature of the FoldCat is that it has a hull floor giving a large amount of practical and useable space. This also helps to catch any gear that may drop and makes it possible to carry more fishing gear and supplies than ordinary pontoon boats.

The stability of this boat is fantastic and you would have no problem standing and keeping balance. Its pontoons are spaced widely apart and the wide beam gives fantastic stability compared to a hard hull boat.

Make no mistake about it, the FoldCat was designed for fishing. It has swivel seats that rotate 360 degrees, rod holders and a choice of motors that allow you to get across open water quickly then paddle slowly into the area you want to be (hopefully to find the best fish). The versatility of being able to not only use a motor but also to use the oars allows you to get into harder to access fishing spots with ease.

There are lots of optional accessories that are available to purchase depending on which one of the packages you choose. With the different package selections and the fact that there are two different sizes to choose from, there is a boat that will suit everyone’s needs and budget.

This boat can reach some pretty good speeds if you need to use it. If you do take it full speed expect that whoever is sitting in front to get wet. It offers convenience, portability and the ability to reach some fantastic fishing destinations which is what it is all about. If you are looking for a solid and stable inflatable boat that can hold between 2 and 6 people then this is the one to get. Though it can be neatly packed away and stored in a small space, it is still a little heavy so you will definitely need someone to help carry it and set it up. For the initial set-up give yourself a little extra time to figure it all out. Sea Eagle’s instructions are great and easy to use but you will still need a few extra minutes to know what you are doing. Actually I would recommend trying out the set-up before you ever take it to the water. Once you know what you are doing it can be set-up very quickly.
