More About the Sea Eagle 340X

I love Sea Eagles explorer kayaks. There is the option of three different hull sizes, the 340x, the 380x and the 420x. These are by far some of the best inflatable kayaks on the market for the price, the performance and the features that these boats offer. When searching for which inflatable kayak I myself wanted to purchase I explored more or less every inflatable kayak that is currently available. For what I wanted, the Sea Eagle 380x was the boat of my choice. Here is what I find so great about the explorer kayaks…Sea Eagle 340X Deluxe Package

  1. These kayaks can handle just about any water condition. They are perfect for a calm day on the lake or for fishing, they can handle ocean swells and they will fearlessly ride down class IV rapids in a raging river. They are not built to be the top performers on the water but they will be able to handle many different situations.
  2. These kayaks are made to withstand the toughest of conditions and have been tested ruthlessly. Sea Eagle states that they have pounded them over and over with the claw end of a hammer as well as tried stabbing it with a screwdriver. Neither of these had any effect whatsoever. I wouldn’t try doing this myself but I think the point they are trying to make is clear… you do not have to worry about dragging it over rocks or bumping into a dock.
These Kayaks are Solid and Offer Tons of Features…

Another great feature of the explorer kayaks is that they can handle wet or dry conditions. They have four extra-large and easily convertible drains. When the drains are open, the craft will bail itself in whitewater conditions. Or if you are in calm waters you can keep them closed. However even if your boat should fill right up with water, the explorer kayaks will not sink.

This is a great inflatable kayak for absolutely any age as it is extremely stable and reliable. I would say that the Sea Eagle 340x is best for two people out on a recreational day trip and for one person on a long river running trip who has lots of gear. If you plan on mostly paddling with two people then you may want to look at the slightly larger models, the 380x or the even bigger 420x. There are plenty of tie down points for dry bags and gear and the bow and stern have room for storage bags as well.

Recommendations for Sea Eagle Explorer Kayaks

I would recommend getting the directional stabilizer that is available for these inflatable kayaks if you plan on kayaking on lakes or on the ocean as it will really help with the tracking. It isn’t too bad without it, but with it, you will find yourself going virtually straight with little effort.

Also I would highly recommend the luxury tall back seats for recreational kayaking or fly-fishing as the comfort level with these is phenomenal. They are held very sturdy on the boat and do not waver. The back support is really great, which to me is extremely important. There is nothing worse than being out on the water with a sore back after an hour.

The last thing that really sold me on the Sea Eagle explorer kayaks is that they come with a 3 year warranty and a 180 day risk free trial. If you are not satisfied within that time frame you can return the kayak hassle free. They truly stand by this and though I do know of a few people who have returned their Sea Eagle sports kayaks (330 and 370), I have never heard of even one person returning a Sea Eagle explorer kayak.

These boats are built for satisfaction and will last for years and years. They can easily be transported just about anywhere, including on an airplane and will provide tons of fun for one person, two people, families and dogs. I highly recommend this inflatable kayak (my personal favorite is the 380x model).

Final Thoughts On the Sea Eagle 340X

Yes there are other inflatable kayaks that may track better, paddle faster and cost more.  However there are not many that will perform good in all types of water, withstand a beating and just keep going… time after time after time.  The 340X will carry one heck of a huge load of gear and get you anywhere you want to go.  This inflatable kayak may not get you there the fastest… but it will get you there in comfort and without any troubles.  You can count on that.
