More About the Advanced Elements StraitEdge Canoe
I like this inflatable canoe because it has built-in aluminum ribs that define the bow and stern which improves tracking. Canoes aren’t normally built for speed and this one is no different, but it does track decently. It is very durable and will hold up very well. I find that Advanced Elements inflatable boats always have a nice design and it is the same with the StraitEdge Canoe… it is a nice looking canoe… if that means anything to you.
This inflatable canoe is very stable. It has a wide beam and a low center of gravity. Anyone could feel safe in this boat and it would be great for families, kids, dogs, etc. At only 41 pounds it can still easily be transported anywhere you want to go whether camping, traveling, fishing or simply for a nice day of paddling on the lake. The price is affordable and for the quality is superb. Also the seats are super comfortable and actually can be adjusted to your height – I wish more kayak seats were like that.

This is not a long canoe and it is only 11 feet. Not bad, but with two people or anyone lucky enough to have long legs, it may feel a bit cramped. I don’t think it would be a problem for short little excursions but it may get uncomfortable after a few hours unless you give yourself the opportunity to stretch out.
The StraitEdge Canoe comes with aluminum rib bow and stern bags, rod holders, molded rubber handles, welded seams as well as a new advanced inflation valve. These are all great features for an inflatable canoe.
Final Thoughts on the Advanced Elements StraitEdge Canoe
As with most of Advanced Elements inflatable boats they are great quality, affordable and fun but they are not the top of the line performers. That’s okay because what they do is provide us with a fun and functional boat that more people can afford. The StraitEdge Canoe is a great inflatable canoe – especially as compared to some of the other inflatable canoes on the market. It is not perfect and it may be a bit cramped. However for the price paid you are getting a good quality and very usable canoe that is completely portable and easily stored.
