Advanced Elements Inflatable Fishing Kayak

Although most inflatable kayaks can be used for fishing not all are outfitted for anglers such as the Advanced Elements StraitEdge fishing kayak.

The StraitEdge has some great features that make this inflatable not only convenient for fishing but fun to paddle as well.

Important Features

Below are some of the reasons the StaitEdge is popular for fishing.

Wide Beam – The wide aluminum frame of this kayak provides excellent stability and comfort. This is ideal for reeling in fish as well as for new paddlers looking or extra stability and easy use.

Strong Material – The construction is strong and as with many of the Advanced Elements kayaks the multi-layer material and multiple air chambers make this boat safe for most adventures. With a little care it will last a very long time. The added abrasion pads for extra durability on this particular model are a nice touch.

High Back Seat – The seat has a high back and adjustable inflatable lumbar support to help with longer days on the water. The seat also comes with two-rod holders that are unique to this model.

Gear Storage – When fishing in a kayak it is sometimes necessary to tie down your gear. The stainless steel d-rings and bungee deck lacing provide ample opportunity to keep your important stuff safe and secure. The d-rings also allow you to attach a drift anchor when you find that perfect spot.

Paddle Holders – The last thing you want to worry about when you have stopped at a good fishing spot is losing your paddles. I only know of a few other inflatable kayaks that offer paddle holders so this is a great feature that any angler will appreciate.

Removable Mounting Bar – I love that this kayak has a mounting bar. I have never seen this on any other inflatable kayak and it is such a great feature for fishing. It allows you to mount additional rod holders, a fish finder and other fishing equipment. Basically with this bar you can customize it to suit your needs.

Self-Bailing – The self-bailing valves allow you to rid the boat of excess water when paddling in rougher water.

Rubber Molded Handles – The rubber molded handles are not that unique as many inflatable kayaks have them but they do make carrying your kayak much easier.

From what I can tell the reviews have been really positive for this kayak. If you love to fish and don’t want to have to have to completely customize your inflatable kayak yourself, then the StraitEdge is a really nice option.
