Hello from the staff at InflatableKayakWorld.com!

Our staff consists of two – mother and daughter – Renae and Allison MacLaughlan. We are located in the sunny Okanagan about three hours East of Vancouver, British Columbia which offers (in our opinion) some of the most beautiful kayaking in the world. Together we have brainstormed, created, designed, researched and written every aspect of this site in order to share with and help other passionate paddlers out there who love to enjoy the benefits of inflatable kayaking as we do.

A few words from Allison…

I started kayaking roughly twelve years ago and have paddled on nearly every type of water, except on heavy whitewater rapids. I leave the real crazy rapids for my brother as he is a whitewater kayaking maniac. I on the other hand am more of a recreational kind of girl.

I love the feeling of paddling across a peaceful lake and watching an eagle sore over my head or making my way up a winding river and exploring the lush foliage or even paddling across the open sea to a small island destination. Kayaking is really my perfect ride… peaceful, eco-friendly, a great outdoor workout and that sense that you have become one with the elements. I adore it!

Using an inflatable kayak was suggested to me by a friend. I loved the idea immediately and don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it sooner as it really suited my lifestyle and needs.

For one I absolutely LOVE to travel. I have often rented kayaks while traveling so that I could explore my destination further through their water ways. With an inflatable kayak I realized I could very easily bring it along with me anywhere I go. This opened a whole new world of traveling options and I was thrilled.

Second, I don’t have room to store a large hard-shell kayak. An inflatable is simply much more convenient. Transporting my inflatable is also a dream as I just throw the carry case in the trunk of my car and away I go. Seriously easy.

I did a whole lot of research when looking into owning an inflatable kayak and learned a lot about their quality and performance. These boats have come a long long way over the years and are extremely durable and safe.

This site became a reality by combining my love to write (I am the sole writer and researcher for InflatableKayakWorld.com) and my passion to paddle. My mother Renae, who is also a lover of kayaking and the great outdoors, does just about everything else as she is the master figure-outer. She can figure out how to do or create anything! Together we make a great team.

We hope to share everything we have learned about inflatable kayaks as well as our amazing kayaking adventures with anyone out there willing to learn, listen and try.

A few words from Renae…

I have only been in a hard shelled kayak a few times and besides that the rest of my paddling experience has always been in an inflatable kayak. I love the outdoors and I have a passion and HUGE desire to travel and then travel some more.

I like the idea that an inflatable kayak can easily be taken onto an airplane and used all over the world. Inflatables are easy to store, set up and be transported and can truly be used by any person of any age. I love the feeling of just being out on the water with the wind in my face, exploring new areas and being away from all the other stresses and details of daily life.

My role with InflatableKayakWorld.com is to do the designing, creating, marketing, coding, heavy thinking and all of the other nit-picky details that Allison can’t stand. Together we hope to inspire others to get outside on the open water and explore every beautiful lake, river and ocean possible.
